The Best Strawberry Lemonade in the Middle of Winter

Strawberry Lemonade using canned strawberry syrup

The kids and I are currently struggling with cabin fever. We are anxious for spring and summer when we can play outside for hours on end. Little BBQ has been asking for strawberries in everything, but strawberry season is still months away, so I popped open another jar of strawberry syrup and decided to surprise Little BBQ with a glass of strawberry lemonade.

I used fresh squeezed lemon juice and some of our homemade low sugar strawberry syrup to produce the best tasting strawberry lemonade that I have ever tasted. The wonderful sweet tart flavor really hit the spot and temporarily quenched our desire for warmer weather. Little BBQ found the strawberry lemonade a little too strong so we had to dilute his strawberry lemonade a little, but Miss Bubbles and I enjoyed the powerful tasting strawberry lemonade at full strength.

Ingredients (serves 1)

2 lemons
2 tbsp low sugar strawberry syrup
2 ice cubes
2 tbsp water (optional)

Directions

1. Roll the lemons on the kitchen counter to make them easier to juice.

2. Slice the lemons in half and squeeze out the lemon juice.

3. Remove the seeds from lemon juice.

4. Add the strawberry syrup to the lemon juice and stir.

5. Add the ice cubes and water, if desired.

6. Enjoy!
